Looks like the long winded and painful process of withdrawing from your EPF (Employees Provident Fund) Account is all set to become a lot simpler.

You can avail of the new EPF initiative which allow you to withdraw from your EPF account without approval from your employer if:

– You have an Aadhar Unique Identity number,

– your bank account details have been linked to EPF UAN (Unique Account Number),

– and your KYC (Know Your Customer) verification has been done by your employer.

This move is set to address concerns regarding unwanted delays and the complaint to EPFO that employers are using the approval process as a tool to harass employees.

What should you do?

If you have already met the above stated conditions, and you have a valid reason to withdraw from EPF, you can submit your claims in Form 19, or Form 10C, or Form 31 directly to the commissioner, without employer attestation and as specified by form submission guidelines.
