• EST: It stands for Eastern Time Zone (EST) and is followed in New York, Washington DC, Florida and other US cities in the autumn and winter months. It is 5 hours behind the Coordinated Universal Time (UTC-5) or Greenwich Mean Time.
• EDT: It stands for Eastern Daylight Time (EDT), and is followed in summer and spring months in US cities. It is 4 hours behind the Coordinated Universal Time (UTC-4) or Greenwich Mean Time.
