Members of the EPFO are, by default, part of the Employee Pension Scheme (EPS). On retirement, the individual is eligible for a regular pension. To apply for the pension amount, one needs to submit the EPF Form 10D. Therefore, the main purpose of Form 10D is pension withdrawal after retirement. Furthermore, the pension amount depends on the monthly pensionable salary and the total number of years in pensionable service. This article covers what EPF Form 10D is and how to fill it.
What is EPF Form 10D?
EPF Form 10D is a pension withdrawal form post-retirement. The eligibility to submit the form is either you are in your retirement year (58 years) or after 50 years (early retirement at reduced pension). Furthermore, the member or their nominee (in case of the member’s death) has to fill and submit the form. The form submission is through the employer (establishment) to the EPFO. Also, the entire process of applying for a pension after retirement is an offline process.
The pension amount depends on the monthly pensionable salary and the total number of years in pensionable service. Furthermore, for early retirement (after 50 years of age), the pension would be at a discounted rate of 4% each year.
