Bank of India on 7th May 2012 acquired a 51% stake in the then Bharti AXA Investment Managers Private Limited (BIAM) and Bharti AXA Trustee Services Private Limited (BATS). Therefore, BOI became a Co-Sponsor along with the existing AXA Investment Managers (AXA IM).
Hence, the Fund House was renamed as BOI AXA Mutual Fund. Subsequent thereupon, BIAM was also renamed as BOI AXA Investment Managers Private Limited. Not to mention, BATS was also renamed as BOI AXA Trustee Services Private Limited.
The partnership between Bank of India and AXA Investment Managers led to the growth of the BOI AXA Mutual Fund in India. This brought together Bank of India’s huge network and experience in the Indian Market. The global presence and AXA’s expertise also played a key role in financial management. This further helped BOI AXA Mutual Fund emerge as the most respectable fund house in India.
Bank of India is India’s one of the oldest and also the most reliable banks. It was founded on 7th September 1906 by a group of eminent businessmen from Mumbai. However, the Bank was later nationalized along with 13 other Banks.
The Bank started its operations from Mumbai with a paid-up capital of Rs. 50 lakhs and 50 employees.
