Gilt With 10 Year Constant Duration funds provides relative safety of capital with growth at par with inflation and is suitable for investment objectives with duration of 1-5 years or longer.
Gilt Funds with 10 year constant duration are mandated to invest a minimum of 80% of their total assets in Government Securities such that the duration of the portfolio is equal to 10 years.
Funds in the category are exposed to very high variations when interest rates change. On the other hand, such a strategy results in a very high credit quality of the fund. This is the smallest category(less than 0.1 % of the total debt fund assets) with very few funds. We do not recommend funds in this category since we believe that the potential incremental return is not justified by the higher interest rate risk and high volatility.
The scheme seeks to generate optimal returns with high liquidity by investing in Government securities such that weighted average portfolio maturity of around 10 years.
