Regular Fixed Deposit

  • A minimum investment of Rs.1,000 is required.
  • A flexible tenure is available, with a minimum of 7 days and a maximum of 364 days.
  • Using the net banking/mobile banking capability, you can open your account. Opening the FD account online is preferred by many investors over the traditional method of submitting a form at the branch office. However, for online banking, the prerequisite is that your KYC must be updated. You can choose the maturity instructions, nomination, and auto-renewal online. 
  • Auto-renewal with and without interest is available.
  • The interest earned will be paid at maturity along with the principal amount invested.
  • Senior Citizens Loans have a higher Bharat Bank FD rates
  • An overdraft or advance is allowed on fixed deposits up to 95% of the principal deposit.
  • High liquidity by opting for a penalty-free early withdrawal from a fixed deposit, subject to the terms and restrictions.

Cumulative Fixed Deposit

  • A minimum investment of Rs.1,000 is required.
  • Term duration ranges from 12 months to 120 months.
  • Using net banking or mobile banking capability, you can open your account without any hassle. It takes just a few clicks and you can open the FD. However, your KYC must be updated. 
  • Interest is compounded quarterly and reinvested with the original principal.
  • Auto-renewal with and without interest is available.
  • To opt for the reinvestment plan you must invest for a minimum of one year.
  • Obtain a loan up to 95% of the deposit, plus interest, on the pledge of an FD Certificate.
  • Senior citizens have a higher interest rate ranging from 0.50% to 1% depending on the tenure of the FD

Monthly or Quarterly Fixed Deposit

  • A monthly or Quarterly Fixed Deposit is very similar to a regular fixed deposit. The major difference between these 2 fixed deposits is that the interest is paid monthly or quarterly and a regular FD pays the interest at maturity.
  • Individuals, Minors, Registered Co-operative Societies, Registered Public Trusts, and HUFs are all eligible to open an account.
  • One-year minimum duration is required.
  • The maximum length is 120 months, but the Bank may extend it at any moment.
  • A loan of up to 95% of the deposit amount may be provided.
  • Interest is paid on a monthly or quarterly basis.
  • Nomination and auto-renewal facilities are available. 

Bharat Deposit Tax Benefit

  • Under Section 80C of the Income Tax Act, 1961, money invested in a tax-saving bank FD is eligible for a deduction of up to Rs 1.5 lakh, subject to a 5-year lock-in period. 
  • A 5-year tax saver FD can be opened with a minimum of Rs 100 
  • The maximum investment amount allowed in a financial year is Rs 1.5 lakh. 
  • As a result, while a standard FD pays a fair interest rate, a Tax Saving FD pays a significantly greater effective interest rate due to the tax savings.
  • No premature withdrawal is allowed.
  • The tax saving fixed deposit is not auto-renewed on maturity
  • An investor may choose to receive the interest monthly. However, the interest rate will be discounted.

Flexi Fixed Deposit

A Flexi Fixed Deposit is a unique type of deposit that combines the liquidity of savings and current accounts with the high returns of fixed deposits. Bharat Bank’s Flexi Fixed Deposit Facility allows you to invest in a unique manner. This allows for the automated transfer of funds to a fixed deposit when the balance in your savings or current account reaches certain thresholds. Moreover, with the reverse process, the funds are reversed in your savings or current account from your FD account when needed.

  • Minimum balance requirement is Rs.25,000
  • Sweep out to FD if balance exceeds Rs.50,000
  • Convert to FD in multiples of Rs.10,000
  • Maximum FD amount per sweep is Rs.5,00,000
  • Tenure of FD is 90 days

Bharat Daily Deposit (PYGMY)

  • Bharat Bank’s representative collects deposits at the depositor’s doorstep daily. The depositor may select a convenient time. The intent is to help depositors instil a savings habit and build a corpus.
  • Due to daily investment objectives, the minimum deposit required is Rs.25 or multiples thereof.
  • The depositor can withdrawable the amount deposited anytime. 
  • An advance or loan facility is available for upto 75% of the balance.
